New Home

Charlotte Crane | 2/1/2007

The L&N Marine Terminal near the Port of Pensacola is the new home of the Coordinating Center of the Florida Public Archaeological Network following nearly $800,000 in renovations and hurricane repairs.

The state-owned building, built in 1903 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is managed by West Florida Historic Preservation Inc. and houses Florida offices, an archaeology lab and exhibits. It also serves as a regional archaeological display center, among several established or planned for the state and designed to make people aware of archaeological resources in their regions, says Richard Brosnaham, executive director of West Florida Historic Preservation Inc.
